Less is more - part 2
In part 1, I described the curse of 'moreness' that leads us to overwhelm and in this part I'm going to talk about how I'm going to become part of the solution - and so can you
I’m making a change. I’m going to do less, buy less, write less, read less, watch less… and post less. Why? Because I am embracing ‘enoughness’. It’s a mindset. It’s a radical act in the face of consumerism. We always have a choice and through big and little actions it IS possible to live a contented, intentional life.
You probably haven’t read Part 1. And that’s because I posted it to my page instead of sending an email. It was a tsunami of emails that first made me reflect on how my life had become too much. And I have been trying to find a calmer, quieter path ever since.
And so, I’m going to walk the talk.
I’m going to stop clogging up my subscribers’ inboxes! My plan is to continue to write and publish articles here, but I will be sending you a newsletter only once a month. In it you will have a selection of my various offerings with little blurbs and links. So you can choose to read the things you are interested in. Or not.
Less is more - part 1 A personal piece about the way we have been led to believe that more is better and as a result we have become overloaded and overwhelmed. In a moment of sanity I realised I already had enough - and that was all I needed. There are others who are embracing ‘enoughness’, it seems to have caught a vibe.
Neurographics: using art to calm the mind. I create altered books and I’m currently working on one called ‘An Original Girl’. In this video I share a technique called neurographics where drawing lines that cross and smoothing the edges can help to calm an anxious mind.
Might as well face it, I’m addicted to crafts In this video I introduce some of the various arts and crafts that I do. It’s a bit of an introduction to me really and the things I love. It ties in with my article Do you have a renaissance soul? that talks about people who do lots of different things.
Do what you love - for me it’s oracle decks! An intro to the (my) world of oracle decks and why I create them. I introduce some of my first decks and the process of creation. If I could do this all day every day I would! Do you have a passion project? Here is an insight into mine. (But I’d love to hear about YOURS).
So that’s it - my round up for the month. Let me know what you think of this type of newsletter. It really is a privilege to be allowed into your inbox - I hope you enjoy what I produce - and feel free to leave a comment.
